a) A student shall be allowed to freeze two semester(s) at a time or separately before the commencement of Mid-term examination. Applications received after this deadline shall not be entertained.
b) The student shall resume the frozen/same semester whenever offered by the University/Institute,
c) No freezing in the first semester shall be allowed.
d) Freezing up to two semesters (combined or separately) shall be allowed to students facing acute domestic problems/valid reasons subject to approval of Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of the Chairperson/HOD/Principal concerned.
e) For frozen semester the student shall pay 25% of tuition fee for each semester to continue his/her registration with the University of Baltistan, Skardu.
f) The process of freezing of semester and restoration/de-freezing shall be done by the Academic Section of Registrar Office.
g) In special hardship cases, the University shall develop criteria for freezing a semester with the prior permission of the Vice Chancellor. Medical certificate shall be duly signed by the University Medical Officer.
h) Freezing of first two semesters for BS and first semester for MS is not allowed.
i) Under special hardship circumstances freezing of first semester can be considered upon the approval of competent authority under the following circumstances/conditions.
· Iddat
· Maternity/Delivery
· Death in the immediate family
· Any other subject to acceptance on justified rationale
Note: Freezing of Semester shall only be allowed after successful completion of 1st Semester as prerequisite as the case may be for other semester’s predecessor to the freezing Semester.
