The University shall invite applications for admission in the various academic programs on prescribed application form through an advertisement by the student affairs via Registrar Office.

Eligibility Criteria for Various Programs

Each degree program shall have eligibility criteria for admissions set by Departmental Council according to HEC rules and conveyed to Admission Office.

Admission Procedure

a)      Admissions for BS/Bachelor (4 years) degree programs shall be made once a year.

b)     Admissions to BS/Bachelor (4 years) shall be announced preferably after the declaration of the results of HSSC examinations and the whole process shall be completed preferably 05 (Five) working days prior to commencement of the semester.

c)      Admissions shall be open to all eligible candidates meeting the following criteria;

d)     From Gilgit-Baltistan 80% of total seats in each discipline in each department.

e)      From across Pakistan (excluding Gilgit-Baltistan) 20% of total seats in all programs of each department.

f)      Foreign students seeking admissions in the University shall submit their applications through the HEC, Government of Pakistan. Such students shall be included in the 20% as described above.

g)     Number of seats shall be defined by the respective Departmental Councils.

h)     Admissions shall be open to all eligible candidates without discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, and gender.

i)       The University shall invite applications for admissions to various academic programs on the prescribed application form, through an advertisement by the Admission Office indicating clearly number of open-merit seats as well as those on quota basis. The number of seats in each degree program shall be decided by the departmental council and conveyed to the Admission Office.

j)       Advertisement for the admissions shall be published in at least one local and one national level certified daily newspapers as well as on the University Website. A period of minimum three (03) weeks shall be given for the application form submission.

k)     Candidates shall apply online and submit the printed application form along with the following documents duly attested by an officer of BPS-17 or above.

l)       Attested copies of S.S.C, H.S.S.C or equivalent examination certificates.

m)    For the admissions in the graduate programs, attested copies of all earlier qualifications shall be submitted.

n)     Attested copies of detail transcript.

o)     Attested copy of character certificate from the head of the institution last attended.

p)     Attested copy of domicile certificate.

q)     Eight passport size photographs.

r)      Migration certificate (original) within 30 days after admission.

s)      Attested copy of computerized national identity card or form ‘B’.

t)       Every application shall be accompanied by an affidavit (Annex-B) signed by the applicant and countersigned by his/her father/guardian stating that s/he shall abide by the Statutes, Rules and Regulations of the University.

u)     Candidates applying for admissions to more than one programs and category (quota) shall submit separate application form and fee along with all supporting documents for each program and category (quota).

w)     In case a student has passed his/her HSSC or equivalent examination before the current session, an affidavit shall be submitted to this effect, that he/she has not been registered in any other institution/university and has not completed a regular degree program already.

x)     In case of admission on reserved seats, the applicants / nominees shall apply through proper channel. If no candidate applies for reserved seats / quota then the reserved seats shall be converted to open merit.

y)     The number of open merit and quota seats shall be determined by the Academic Council on the recommendations of the Departmental Council and Faculty Council.

z)      There shall be a Departmental Admission Committee consisting of the following:

aa)   All the candidates shall bring the relevant original documents for the inspection by the Departmental Admission Committee.

bb)  If two candidates have equal merit, the one senior in age shall be given preference over the other for the purpose of admission.

cc)   If any candidate fails to appear before the Admission Committee at the specified time and venue, he/she shall not be considered for admission and the seat shall be offered to the next candidate following the merit.

dd)  Candidate selected for admission shall finalize the admission requirements within the notified period, failing which their right of admission shall be forfeited and the admission shall be offered to the next candidate on waiting list.

ee)   Late admission shall be allowed to only those candidates who are on waiting list. Such candidates shall be informed about their selection by placing information on the University notice board, website and shall be required to finalize the admission requirements within the notified period.

ff)    All candidates selected for admission shall be required to submit an undertaking at time of documents verification, on a judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 30.

gg)  Within 15 days of completion of admission, the Admission Office/ Student Affairs and Alumni shall send profiles of all the newly admitted students to the Internal Examinations and concerned Departments. The profile shall include registration number, name of student, father’s name, date of birth, examinations passed with year, marks obtained, divisions and number with date of the deposit slip.

hh)  All admissions shall remain provisional till verification of all the documents of newly admitted students by the Admission Office/ Student Affairs and Alumni. If a student is found guilty for submission of fake documents, his admission shall be cancelled immediately without any notice at any stage. The University reserves the right to pursue further legal formalities (if deemed necessary).

ii)     Admission in one department shall not give any student a right of transfer to other department/migration to another university.

jj)     The University may suspend any particular discipline if the number of applicants is less than 10 or due to any other reason. In such cases, the applicants may be considered for admission to another discipline subject to meeting prescribed eligibility criteria, merit and availability of seats.

kk)  The following categories of candidates shall not be eligible for admissions:

·        Who have got a degree/certificate with ‘third division’ in annual system or ’less than 50% marks or equivalent for other than annual system’ in the required qualification for admission to the specific program.

·        Who have ceased to be students of this University/ any other university on disciplinary grounds.

·        Who is already registered in any degree program in any institute. In case of dual registration, admission of the student shall be cancelled without any prior notice. HEC guidelines shall be followed in case of dual degrees. 

ll)     If a student fails to join a program during the first two weeks of the commencement of the semester as per announced schedule, his/her admission shall stand cancelled automatically without any prior notice.

mm)                   No change of discipline shall be entertained once the admissions are finalized.
