a)      All undergraduate degree programs shall involve 124-140 Credit Hours in which (124 represents the minimum and 140 represents the maximum credit hours required to be completed).

b)     In undergraduate degree programs, major courses are classified into two categories.

·        Foundation or Core Courses

·        Elective (courses from area of specialization/major study)

c)      78-87 Credit Hours shall be earned taking a sequence of introductory, intermediate and advanced level courses prescribed for the major area of concentration that means foundation and elective (courses of area of specialization). The following procedures shall be followed in connection with the courses (however, any changes suggested by the HEC shall be incorporated and followed as and when suggested):

·        The courses for Social and Basic Sciences disciplines shall consist of 60-65% of curriculum for the discipline specific areas.

·        While for the Engineering/technology program these shall consist of 65-70% of curriculum towards the discipline specific areas of concentration as required by Accreditation Councils. All Undergraduate programs have a required component of 8-9 courses of 22-25 credit of General Education.

d)     Departments shall adopt the HEC policy regarding weightage for major that means foundation and elective (courses of area of specialization), compulsory and related subjects as per template/framework prescribed by the HEC for every discipline.

e)      An Undergraduate Degree Program shall include theory courses, community work/thesis/research report/project and internship.

f)      Theory: A theory course is of 02, 03 or 04 credit hours as per requirement of discipline.

g)     Project: Every student shall write a project report/thesis/research report/project/ internship in the final year up to maximum of 06 credit hours individually on a research topic approved by Faculty or course work as per approved by the relevant department.

h)     Internship: Students should be encouraged to do internship in a relevant academic, research or business organization relating to the discipline chosen for specialization of maximum of three (03) credit hours offered in any upper division semester as per requirement of discipline.
